Harvesting health, naturally
At GEDEF FARM, we believe in the power of nature to nourish and heal. Discover our vibrant, chemical-free crops, grown with dedication to sustainability and community well-being, offering both familiar tastes and vital nutrition.

Cultivating nature's bounty
Spanning nearly thirty acres, GEDEF FARM dedicates five and a half acres to a vibrant variety of vegetables. We proudly grow okra, African eggplant (bitterball), sweet potato leaves, waterleaf, bitter leaves, onions, and squash. Our practices are entirely chemical-free, prioritizing soil health, biodiversity, and long-term sustainability. As Jane, our founder, often says, "It’s good to farm and eat from it." We continuously invest in fencing, hoop houses, and cold-chain storage to ensure the highest quality for you.

Food is medicine: Our core philosophy
At GEDEF FARM, our belief that "Food is medicine for the body" guides everything we do. This philosophy is deeply embedded in our work, making farming not just a livelihood but a profound way to heal, connect, and empower our community. We ensure every crop is grown with care, offering not just sustenance but a path to wellness and cultural connection that distinguishes our produce.

Connecting communities with fresh produce
Our carefully grown produce reaches communities longing for the familiar tastes and nutrition of African cuisine. You can find our crops through trusted Minnesota food networks, including The Good Acre, Pillsbury United Communities, and the Minnesota African Immigrant Farmers Association (MAIFA). For the freshest options, you can also purchase directly from GEDEF FARM, at local farmers' markets, or through our convenient online orders.
